Living in... Country Guides

When moving to a new country or region to live and work it is important to be able to settle into your new host country quickly - and feel as comfortable as possible at the same time. New languages, ways of doing things, new schools, different ways of shopping, driving, eating and relaxing can all challenge the newcomer.

We provide 'Living in... Country Guides' on a selection of key countries. The areas covered in these guides include key facts about the country's history, geography and its people. It provides important facts about the cultural influences on the country today and gives practical information on day-to-day living issues such as medical services, schools and colleges, language use, personal etiquette and leisure.

Whilst these guides are extremely well researched and up-to-date they are not in any way definitive. Every society and culture has its idiosyncrasies and nuances that make it difficult to propose a single uniform approach to understanding any country's social/business culture or etiquette. However, a set of loose guidelines can be of real value when there is a clear and urgent need to gain key information on a new culture within a short time frame. This kind of information can aid understanding and help avoid giving offence.

Training Across Cultures: Country & Region Guides

More and more companies are dependent for future growth and prosperity on the quality of their workforce - wherever in the world it is based. As organisations deliver more and more 'universal' training packages to achieve maximum levels of quality at minimum costs - the emphasis is on how effective training can bring about the changes that will produce the greatest results.

However, for such training to achieve maximum efficiency the training needs to be suitably adjusted to the learning and communication styles of the local participants.

We provide 'Training Across Culture - Country Guides' on a selection of key countries. The areas covered in these guides include the behaviour that you are likely to experience in the training room, the core cultural values and beliefs around the areas of training and a list of do's and don'ts regarding appropriate and effective training activities for that culture. These guides are a must for consultants, trainers and HR managers with responsibility for global training design and delivery.
